new year

12-01-2016

happy new year to all of you.
it has been a few weeks since i updated the picture of the week section, but not because i was on holidays.
i was just too busy to do so but now i am back in the studio, although only for a short time.

right now i am in the middle of the preperations for the next exposition: object rotterdam.
it will be held from 12th - 14th of february in the magical, big former steamship ss rotterdam.
click for more details here.
i am designing new work at the moment and it has to be finished in 3 weeks so there is only little time.
in the picture some try-out scale models of one of the new pieces.
i dont want to tell too much....when you are intersted come see it in rotterdam!

besides rotterdam i will present my work also in the middle east, in march in dubai at its famous design fair.
galerie judy straten is organizing an exposition for me and some great colleagues.
especially for this occasion i will produce the first of 5 pieces of a limited edition; mr.knox 'oak veneer'

the last 6 weeks i realized a very big kitchen project.
the project was in a big house with 20 poeple living in it.
one of the goals was to create more space and storageroom and less traffic.
we decided to put the two existing big refrigerators inside a wall where actually a bathroom was.
so we even had to break down walls and build elsewhere new ones.
the old kitchen was completely removed and replaced by a new one.
one old blue cabinet was completely restored and transformed into a new functional piece of kitchen furniture.
we changed watertubes, gas and elctricity an we put two brandnew stoves in the heart of the kitchen.
quite a lot of work but now (almost) finally finished.

there is so much more to tell, i am working on many more projects and new items at the moment but one at a time....
more soon....

bye, stephan
