midwives amsterdam-west

location: midwives office, van der hoopstraat, amsterdam-west, right next to the westergasfabriek.
boudewijn rosman from 1:1architecten got this assignment and asked me to think about the interior and materialize our vision on this midwife office.
after a few weeks of drawing, experimenting  and communication this interior project started in the autumn of 2011.
the office opened for clients at 1.12.2011 but until last week (march 2012) i worked on the last things for the midwives.
the complete interior is made out of sandblasted plywood and the furniture, floor and walls are designed within one form language.
we have uninterrupted curved lines all over, soft colours and natural looking materials.
jeroen wesselink is responsible for the very nice and playful object in the middle of the waitingroom, the marble or car race course.
the photographs are take by jeroen meijerink aka buffel.
de architect has written an article about the project on their website. click here to read it.

update: there also has been an article in the magazine. click here to read it.
